Graphics houses often call on freelancers to provide "Copy" for their projects. Even advertising agencies sometimes lack specific expertise, or have workload demands that call for freelance help.
The variety of these jobs makes them challenging and interesting, and the deadlines are often very short, making it tricky to fit them into the writer's schedule.
I take some pride in working these jobs in promptly so that the project can be completed on time - at least, the text portion will be on time!
It is always enjoyable to interview a client whose field is unfamiliar, giving me the chance to learn, and offering the client the viewpoint of an interested "outsider" - which is, I'll point out, also that of their own prospects.
