Laudeman, Pty. Pro Bono Program Pro bono (Latin; for the good [of the public is understood.]) usually in connection with legal representation undertaken at no cost in behalf of a person, organization or cause unable to pay for these services, and done for the good of mankind or perhaps of the system. In this case, pro bono means that I will selectively provide Internet World Wide Web hosting and Web site design (and upkeep if necessary) for persons or organizations that I feel are needful. More often than not, these are religious or charitable groups, but I am open to any suggestions for pro bono work that enhances public welfare and elevates the atmosphere of the Internet. Please read the "Rules" below and send me an e-mail describing your Website needs. |

Getting
Started
Bill
Laudeman - -
You,
the client - -
| I
must interview the client's leadership (person or group) and have a thorough
understanding of the background, principles, and goals of the client. I may decline the project without giving my reasons. |
You must be prepared to work with me to generate an outline of your project, to answer the "who - why - what - how" questions in regard to your Web presence. |
| I will show you my portfolio and ask you to be certain that you can accept my general stylistic approach and biases. | You must be satisfied that my style is appropriate to your purposes, because I can't change my style. |
| I will produce a Draft Project Outline based on the information you give me. | You must discuss the Outline, and the person or group responsible must accept it or ask me to revise it. |
Creating
the Web site
| I will establish a schedule and do my best to adhere to it, but you must understand that paying clients have first call on my time and facilities. | You will allow more time for the project than you would if you were paying for the work, and you will be flexible in scheduling meetings, etc. Wherever possible, I will have direct access to decision makers in order to expedite changes and approvals. |
| I will try to keep meetings to a minimum because I don't enjoy them any more than you do. | You will try to accomodate me by meeting at my place whenever possible to reduce my overhead investment in your project. |
Approvals
I ask that everyone having decision-making power attend the Approval meeting. I will work with you to make any changes needed and resolve any creative issues. |
If someone can say "no" - have them at the Approval meeting. Be prepared to state your objections clearly and specifically. |
Finished
Project
I will include small, unobtrusive "credit" links to my own Web site in the footers of your site pages. No banners, cookies or other intrusive actions will be taken. I may tender an invoice for the work, showing a 100% credit, to give a zero balance. This enables me to account for my time, and establishs the value of pro bono work for tax purposes. |
You should be willing to provide references to my paying clients and allow me to link to your Web Site in order to show paying clients an example of my work. Persons responsible should review the invoice so as to understand the value of the project. |
