Served as a Spc. (Instructor) in the Army Ordnance Corps Guided Missile School - Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama.

Three years active duty beginning during the Korean War, enlisted (volunteer) in the Signal Corps and later transferred into the Ordnance Corps.

Honorably Discharged in 1961 after 5 years of inactive reserve.

1983-1994
U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary

Served as Chattanooga Division Captain and as Second-Southern District Public Education officer.

Numerous qualifications including Search and Rescue Vessel operator, Vessel Inspector, and more. The CG-Aux. is a unpaid, sworn service under orders of the Commandant of the Coast Guard and tasked with every C.G. mission except armed law enforcement.

Left the service after selling our family boat(s) in 1994.
